moreSustainable

Sustainability is a major consideration throughout all of MOREYOGA products. We care deeply about the earth´s future. This planet is a closed system and whatever we do affects the whole. What we consume and the way we consume it impacts the world. We are concerned about conscious consumerism. That is why we design and craft yoga and wellness clothes from sustainable and eco-friendly fibers, to let your body breathe and feel good without leaving a dark print in the environment. To benefit both, the wearer as well as the world, we support sustainable practices by choosing beautiful fabrics that respect the environment.

MOREYOGA produces responsibly with the environment and is certified OKO-TEX 100. In addition, all fabrics are dyed with pigments certified by Ecotest which are skin and environmentally friendly. The products are manufactured in Spain which guarantees fair working conditions and European Health and Safety Standards.

What do we do to minimize our impact on the environment?

  • we use Lyocell and eco-friendly fabrics which are locally produce. All our items and dyed garments use eco-friendly low impact dye process acording to OEKO-TEX 100
  • all our clothes are ethically manufactured in Europe using local resources so that will minimize transport costs and pollution.
  • corporate footprint: our corporate practices are focused in reducing transport cost by designing, buying materials, manufacturing and assembly all our products nearby.
  • 100% recycled paper on hang labels in all our collections
  • we only use reclyced paper/bags in our packaging as well as in our corporate documents such invoices, order forms, etc.

LYOCELL

Lyocell is produced from cellulose, is a manufactured fiber, but it is not synthetic. It is made from wood pulp harvested from tree farms for this purpose. This eco-friendly fiber has all the advantages of a natural material and is 100% bio-degradable. The production process for Lyocell is extremely environmentally friendly. The process minimizes environmental impact and uses water and energy efficiently and economically, giving lyocell a significant advantage over other man-made fibers. The raw material is low-grade recycled paper. What is interesting about its manufacturing process is the recovery and reuse of up to 99.8 percent of the solvent, and the remaining emissions which are broken down in biological water treatment plants. In fact, the solvent is not acidic, does not remain in the fiber, and has been proven harmless in dermatological and toxicological tests.

As a result, Lyocell fibers are gentle on the skin. The microscopic surfaces of lyocell fibers, due to the nanofibrils, are smoother than the surfaces of modal and wool, reducing skin irritation. It is the combination of this extremely smooth surface of lyocell and excellent moisture absorption that makes lyocell textiles feel so soft and pleasant to the skin, making them ideal for active wear and clothing for sensitive skin. In addition, lyocell is hypoallergenic and anti-static and fabric made from it doesn’t cling. Also it has an ability to absorb excess liquid (perspiration) – at a rate of fifty percent more than cotton – and quickly release it into the atmosphere. In doing so, lyocell supports the natural ability of the skin to act as a protective shell to regulate body temperature and maintain water balance. At the same time, lyocell’s moisture management does not give bacteria a chance to grow. Moisture is directly absorbed from the skin and transported to the inside of the fiber, rather on the surface where bacteria could grow. Lyocell’s anti-bacterial property is inherent to the fiber without the chemical additives that are used on synthetics. Synthetics tend to hold onto odour-causing bacteria even after washing.

Additionally, clothing made of lyocell remains odor-free for multiple wearings. This means fewer washings and saving on water and energy as well as on the wear and tear that occurs on any fabric from the washing and drying processes. With lyocell fabrics, there is no need for fabric softener or whitening agents, and energy and water use can be decreased due to shorter washing machine cycles.

So with these qualities this is a textile that can be considered to be green.
